47:1 Take into your hands the epistle of the blessed Apostle Paul.
47:2 What did he first write unto you in the beginning of his gospel?
47:3 Of a truth, he warned you spiritually, in a letter, concerning himself,
and concerning Cephas and Apollos, because even then there were factions among
you;
47:4 but the faction of that time brought less sin upon you; for ye inclined
unto Apostles of good repute, and unto a man approved among them.
47:5 But now consider who they are that have perverted you, and have
diminished the glory of your famous brotherly love.
47:6 Disgraceful, brethren, yea, very disgraceful is it, and unworthy of the
conduct which is in Christ, that it should be reported that the most firm and
ancient Church of the Corinthians hath, on account of one or two persons, made
sedition against its presbyters.
47:7 And this report came not only unto us, but also unto the Gentiles, who
go not with us. So that ye heap blasphemies on the name of the Lord through your
folly, and withal cause danger to yourselves.
