Meqabyan — Chapter 7

1 And whether you are a king or a ruler, what important thing are you? 2 Isn't it JAH who created you, bringing you from not living to living, so that you might do His will and might live strengthened by His command and might fear His judgment? Just as you trouble your slaves and govern over them, so also there is JAH who troubles you and governs over you. 3 Just as you beat without mercy those who committed sin, so also there is JAH who will strike you and lower you toward Gehenna where there are no exits until eternity. 4 Just as you whip him who was not ruled by you and didn't bring a tribute to you, why is it that you don't offer a tribute to JAH? 5 Since He is the One who created you so that you love those who might fear you, and who crowned you over all creation so that you might keep His people faithful, why is it that you don't fear your Creator JAH? 6 Judge by what is just and true, just as JAH appointed you; yet do not show partiality or favor to small or great.
Whom will you fear besides Him? Keep His worship and the Nine Commandments. 7 Just as Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, "I have presented water and fire to you; extend your hand toward what you love," do not go either right or left. 8 Hear His word that I tell you, so that you might hear His word and might do His command, lest you say, "It is beyond the sea or beyond the deep or beyond the river; who will bring it to me so that I might see it and might hear His word and might do His command?" 9 Lest you say, "Who will go up to Heaven again and bring down that word of JAH to me so that I might hear and do it?" The word of JAH is what has approached; behold, for you to teach it with your mouth and give alms by it with your hand. 10 And you did not hear your Creator JAH unless you heard His Book, and you did not love Him nor keep His command unless you kept His Law.
And you will enter Gehenna forever if you do not love His command and unless you do the will of JAH, who honored and made you famous, separating you from all your people so that you might keep them faithful; you will enter Gehenna forever. 11 He made you above all, and He crowned you over all His people so that you might rule His people faithfully by what is just, while you remembered the name of your Creator who created you and gave you a kingdom. 12 There are those whom you whip for wronging you, and there are those whom you pardon while you consider the work of JAH, and there are those for whom you judge by what is just, straightening your reasoning. 13 And do not show favor or partiality when they argue before you, for earthly possessions are your wealth. Do not accept a bribe so that you might pardon the sinner and wrong the innocent person. 14 If you do His will, JAH will multiply your days in this world for you; but if you sadden Him, He will diminish your days. 15 Consider that you will rise after you die, and that you will be examined standing before Him for all the work you have done, whether it be good or evil. 16 If you do good work, you will live in a Garden in the Kingdom of Heaven, in houses where kind kings live and where Light fills.
For JAH does not shame your lordship or authority; but if you do evil work, you will live in See'ol Gehenna where evil kings live. 17 But when you see your feared fame, your warriors' reward, your hanging shield and spear, and when you see your horses and your troops under your authority and those who beat drums and people who play the harp before you... 18 But when you see all this, you make your reasoning lofty, and you stiffen your collar of reasoning, and you do not think of JAH who gave you all this honor; however, when He told you, "Quit all this," you are not one who quits it. 19 For you have totally neglected the appointment He appointed you, and He shall give your lordship to another. 20 For death shall suddenly come upon you, and judgment shall be done in the resurrection time, and as all human work shall be examined, He shall totally investigate and judge you. 21 There are none who will honor this world's kings, for because He is the True Judge, in judgment time poor and wealthy will stand together. This world's nobles' crowns in which they boast shall fall. 22 Judgment is prepared, and a soul shall quake; at that time sinners' and righteous ones' work shall be examined. 23 And there are none who shall be hidden.
When a daughter arrived for birthing, and when the fetus in her belly arrived for being birthed, just as she cannot prevent her womb, Earth also cannot prevent her lodgers that are upon her; she will return. 24 And just as clouds cannot prevent rain unless they take and rain toward the place JAH commanded them, for JAH's word has created all, bringing them from not living to living, and for JAH's word again has brought all toward a grave; and all likewise - after resurrection time arrived - it is not possible that dead persons will not rise. 25 Just as Moses spoke, saying, "It is by words that proceed from JAH's tongue; yet it is not only by grain that a person is saved"; and JAH's word again shall arouse all persons from graves. 26 Behold, it was known that dead persons shall arise by JAH's word. 27 And again JAH said thus in Deuteronomy because of nobles and kings who do His will, "As the day has arrived when they are counted for destruction, I shall avenge and destroy them on the day when judgment is judged and at the time when their feet stumble," He said. 28 And again JAH told those who know His judgment, "Know that I was your Creator JAH, and that I kill and I save." 29 "I chastise in tribulation and I pardon; I lower toward See'ol and again I send forth toward the Garden, and there are none who shall escape from My authority," He told them. 30 JAH said thus because of nobles and kings who did not keep His Law, "As earthly kingdoms are passing, and as they pass from morning until evening, keep My order and My Law so that you might enter toward the Kingdom of Heaven that lives strengthened forever," He said. 31 For JAH's calling of righteous ones is for glory, and of sinners for tribulation;
He will make the sinner wretched but will honor righteous ones. 32 He will dismiss the person who did not do His will, but He will appoint the person who did His will. Retrieved from "https://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Translation:1_Meqabyan&oldid=15672988" Categories:
