Said R. Eleazar: ‘In very truth this way of ours is made straight before us, and it is the way of the Holy One, blessed be He. For “God knows the way of the righteous” (Ps. 1, 6), to benefit them and protect them. Therefore when a man goes forth on the way he should see that that is the way of the Holy One, blessed be He, and should obtain His companionship.

Of such a way it is written: “The path of the righteous is as the shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Prov. 4, 18).’
